XPS M1730 wont turn on/boot?

Hi guys, my XPS M1730 has now done this twice. I go to switch it on in the mornings, and CD drive starts to check for disc as normal, and lights light up showing it's on, hard drive light flickers once I think but screen does not switch on and nothing happens, just sits there blank and doesnt do anything. It has now done this twice, randomly. about a week apart. First time I turned it over, opened up and checked connections on memory and hard disck and took battery out and it started first go after this. Second time took a lot longer and lots of pressing the button on and off?

Can anyone offer any help or where to look for a solution? I am also suspect of having an issue with my Video card (doubt this is related?) it used to always show TWO NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GT devices and show me two temperature readouts on everest on my LCD screen, but now only one?? I am guessing somethings up?

Any information of help would be greatly appreciated, i'm at a loss! I've spent all day backing up my machine incase I cant get it to switch on again!
Cheers
Dan.

Thanks, thats what I figured too, but I was not sure this was causing the system not to boot, but now it obviously is.....i'm on the phone to Dell technical and think they are going to replace the Nvidia card (this will be the 3rd time!!!) Anyone else have problems with their Nvidias in their XPS M1730? I did get a free upgrade last time to the 9800M though so cant complain.

This is becoming a common problem with the higer end dells. it is a issue with heat and over time it will damage the chip its self. the reason you are getting nothing on the screen (also known as not posting) is the computer requires 3 things to post, video card, memory and cpu. if one of those items is failing it will not post and you get will get the symptoms.

There is a known issue with the NVIDIA cards used in the E1705, M1710, and m1730 laptops (among others)

They basically are over heating and failing
