Did anyone notice that with Windows 7 there is a delay at shutdown that sometimes can feel like eternity (ok - I exaggerate a bit here
).
After digging around I found out that a tweak used in the old XP days really does the trick.
*do this at your own risk*
. regedit
. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CurrentControlSet -> Control
. “WaitToKillServiceTimeout” : default value is 12000. I put mine to 1200 (one Zero less)
. Save it, restart, next (force quit) shutdown will be much quicker.
I use this on 7811FX and the slow MSI.
