Replace Broken Dell XPS M1530 LCD Screen

Thread Starter
Hey,
My lcd screen recently broke and I wondering is someone can help me find the right replacement screen. I believe it is called.... XPS M1530 WSXGA+ (1680x1050) screen. I first went to dell and they said it would cost me over 400 bucks including the part, tax and installation. From searching google I have found the part for just over 100 bucks.

The next problem is the installation. I would like to try and install the part by myself. Does anyone know of a guide to help me through the process? Thanks

Adam

the dell site has complete service manuals online for free, check the support section look for manuals link.

It really is not hard to replace the LCD display, basically remove the bezel, about 6-8 screws (3-4 on each side of the display) that hold the LCD to the hindges.

Best way to make sure the display is the right one is to get the part and model number off your old one, located on the back side
