1) What is your budget?

Around $900. But no more than $1000 period.

2) What size notebook would you prefer?

Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen
Desktop Replacement; 17"+ screen

3) Where will you buying this notebook?

Orlando outlets.

4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?

Don't like or dislike any in special.

5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed?

Maybe.

6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?

Gaming, browsing and some college works.

7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both?

I'll leave it on desk - 99,99% of the time.

8) Will you be playing games on your notebook?

Yes, latest ones. A great GPU is very important.

9) How many hours of battery life do you need?

The battery life isn't important. The notebook will be near always plugged in.

10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?

Probably, I'll end up buying it at a physical store, but online is generally OK.

11) What OS do you prefer? Windows (XP or Vista or Windows 7), Mac OS, Linux, etc.

Windows 7, but only if it doesn't increase the price compared to all other config options. After all, I can format it and install my own copy of Retail Win7 that I already purchased.

12) What screen resolution(s) would you prefer?

720p or +.

13) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?

Will check it with my eyes first.

14) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?

Not really.

15) When are you buying this laptop?

In the next few days, before end of July/2010.

16) How long do you want this laptop to last?

At least 3 years.

17) How much hard drive space do you need; 80GB to 640GB? Do you want a SSD drive?

Not much, the hard drive space can be small, if it makes the price cheaper. SSD would be nice, though.

18) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a CDRW/DVD-ROM, DVD Burner or Blu-Ray drive?

This isn't very important but a DVD Burner would be nice.

You can go for some refurbished models like the Gateway 7811FX, Asus G72 (or G51J), Toshiba L505 or even HP dv6 series.

I recommend you get Asus N61JA, because i own JQ and is not perfect for gaming.

JQ uses i7 1.6GHz Base - 2.8GHz TB (runs hot, barely TB, and TB last for a sec only)
JA uses i5 2.53GHz Base -3.02GHz TB (fast base speed and sure Turbos and very cooler)

TB = TurboBoost (Don't get tricked buying because of this fancy feature)

In my area where i bought JQ is much cheaper then JA, but JA is cheaper if buying it else where then Asia. But if you're only up for gaming JA is the wiser choice.

For the game performance, it handle Crysis on all High setting no AA under 30fps in open area. And runs weird with GTAIV, speed up fps all sudden and slowed every seconds. Some registry tweak fix it very little, but i7 is the problem here. GTAIV doesn't really takes up multiple cores like the devs said.
