Some help with M17 issues and upgrades.

Lately I've been having a graphical issue with my laptop. I forgot exactly what version of drivers I have 8.681 per the device manager -- I believe it's the 9-12 drivers that I used with mobility modder. I have 2x 3870's

However when I drag ANY window around I have that trailing window and in my opinion a machine of this speed should not be doing that. So I don't know if I need to revert to a better driver or what, so any input or help there would be great. Games seem to run fine however with World of Warcraft every so often the game will completely freeze, I'll hear what sounds like the graphics card fan stop and restart and then about 15 seconds later the screen goes black and immediately comes back with the game running fine. So again any help would be appreciated.

For upgrades I would like to upgrade the ram for sure, I have 3GB currently installed I was wondering if anyone knew the best kind to buy and I'd like to upgrade to 8GB.

Depending on money I would like to upgrade the processor in my M17. I currently have the P8600 and have been reading I get a lot more out of my system with a better processor. Right now it's either upgrade my current m17 or buy a new m17x.

EDIT: Also is it even worth it to attempt to do and or buy graphic card(s) upgrades?

Again, any and all help is much appreciated! Thank you!

The trailing window could be an option within Windows (folder or performance option) - try un-checking that first.

Nope... no option selected. When I move a window it causes like a graphical glitch with everything on the desktop and or around it. From checking google it's a driver problem.

On the other topic, about the upgrades... Anyone have any input?

Might want to update your BIOS and try different drivers - nVidia just came out with a good one

Upgrade is possible, you need to do a math first about the upgrade cost vs selling this and getting a new refresh. Crucial ram modules are rock solid if you want to go that route, I am cheap only go for the best deal I can find

4 GB is the best option for memory, unless you have applications that require > 4 GB

As far as the CPU, I would go for the T9600, it will give you a nice boost in performance over the P8600
