Any particular error codes and messages that you can share? Try also removing the drive and re-seat it?

cheers ...

no error code, powerdvd says unrecognized dvd in drive, model 1737 studio bios still recognizes is it.

well it seems either your optical pickup for the blu ray is out of alignment or crapped.

You can try cleaning the drive.

and a firmware flash might help

not sure about laptop drives, they are quite a bit smaller to work on.

search the model number online for any technical info including alingment and optical replacement.

it probably would not hurt to remove teh drive and open it up and do a visual on it.

Again cleaning may help as well.
