Is there a display driver? Currently it's only letting me choose a crappy resolution @ 60hz :/

Nada on the AW site.....

Thanks

Maybe you can give NBF MobileForce driver a try.

cheers ...

Thanks. I tried the driver, and still don't see anything available past 60hz and 1280x800. I tried to set a custom resolution of 1920x1200, which is the res that the screen should support but it doesn't work, so I guess I don't have the frequencies set correctly.

I think Windows needs a screen/display driver in addition to the card driver so it doesn't see the display as a generic 60hz monitor.

Would be awesome to see this thing at 1920x1200 resolution

To add to this, Windows 7 scored my gaming graphics at 4.1/7.9 with the old driver and 4.9 with the NBF driver, so whatever tweaks were done, Windows likes it

Just for kick, if you plug in an external monitor, will you able to increase the resolution there?

cheers ...

Recognizes my NEC monitor and shows the right resolution and refresh rate 80hz @1280.

Windows 7 just doesn't recognize the built-in panel, and reports it as a generic lcd panel, and since it doesn't recognize it, retards the refresh and resolution so it doesn't damage the panel.

So, in short, I need a display driver (not graphics card driver, but a driver for the actual built-in panel) so Windows 7 recognizes the available res and refresh rates.

I had the same problem with my m5500r1. I wound up switching to Vista and it works like a charm. Strange that Win 7 acts like that on older hardware.

Well, since 7 and Vista share the same kernel architecture, could you tell me the name of the driver reported in your Device Manager, and the name and version of the .dll?

That way, I could source it on a Vista distribution and then install it under 7 and it should work in theory.

That's going to be kind of impossible- My m5500 is back in Hawaii, and I'm currently activated with the Air National Guard in Mississippi.

Hello, I have the same problem: my Ahtec 259EN1 (aka Alienware m5500rc1), with the BIOS 2.03w (thanks mb67 ), not detect my built-in lcp panel with any Nvidia driver from www.laptopvideo2go.com, but detect correctly an external monitor. With the standard VGA, its detect only the built-in LCD, but 'clone' the external monitor (identify 1 in the two monitors ), with the drivers:
Code:
>> Not PnP Generic Monitor
  Supplier controller: Microsoft
  Data controller: 21/06/2010
  controller version: 6.1.7600.16385
  Digital signature: Microsoft Windows

  File controller:
  c:\\Windows\\system32\\DRIVERS\\monitor.sys
  Version: 6.1.7600.16385 (win7_rtm.090713-1255)

>> VGA stardard graphical card
  Supplier controller: Microsoft
  Data controller: 21/06/2010
  controller version: 6.1.7600.16385
  Digital signature: Microsoft Windows

  File controller:
  c:\\Windows\\system32\\DRIVERS\\vgapnp.sys
  Version: 6.1.7600.16385 (win7_rtm.090713-1255)
Please, any solution for this problem? Thanks in advance

Ok, I think my problem is the screen was replaced. Hardware I'd is CPT13B1 and I googled it and 1280 is native resolution. Looks like I'll need to buy a 1920x1200 panel when I have the money.

Humm, my screen laptop works very well with the Windows XP SP2, and its 1680x1050 native resolution (and working with accelerated nvidia driver, of course).

My current screen laptop model is the Samsung LTN154P1-L02.

Please, whats the diference if I buy a 1920x1200 screen panel, to solve my actual problem? I think its a Windows 7 - BIOS version - Nvidia GeForce Go 6600 driver .... but I dont find the exact problem or solution

Thanks in advance.
