HP G60-53OUS Problems

Hello, this is my first post and I am hoping somebody can help. As stated I have th HP G60 53OUS. I can save a DVD to the hard disc but then when I try to play it the sound is great but the picture is pixilated, I mean pixilated to the point that you can't even recognize the movie. The thing is I have a a DVD that was saved earlier and it sounds and looks great. I have tried numerous DVD's with no luck. If I just play a DVD it is flawless no problem at all. Any suggestions?

How did you "save" DVD contents to the hard drive? What type of utility that you use?

I am not very computer literate so bear with me. I just put the DVD in the laptop and went to my computer and copied and pasted it into my video folder. I then use Windows Media Center to view it. It shows up in the library so I know that it is saved to the hard drive but when I play it the sound comes through but the picture is not even recognizable.

Try with another media player like VLC and see if any improvements.

I have tried all of the media players on my laptop, Windows Media Player does not even show it in the library. I have 3 movies loaded onto my laptop but only 1 plays like it is supposed in windows Media Center and the 2 most recent ones do not. Am I saving them correctly? Like I said I am not the most computer saavy guy out there so any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

So we leave out the issue of media players. The only thing left is probably the format of the files after you "copied" them over to the hard drive.

The only way of copying DVD that I know of is using a 3rd party app that copies and keeps the integrity of the file structure. Copying DVD (files) with Windows Explorer or some file managers would not cut it.

Also anti piracy software within the DVD will do this....
