Video driver on new Asus G73J-A1

I just purchased an Asus G73J-A1 and had my friend reformat the drive and reinstall windows 7 without the bloat ware etc.

It's been a while since I've last owned a gaming rig let alone a beast of a laptop like this one.

I as playing Bad Company 2 and within the first 4 minutes, the screen started to glitch. It crashed and then I restarted and it crashed again at full resolution and medium detail.

What is the optimal specs that I should set the game to for this Asus, and how should I go about updating my video drivers?

Thanks.

nVidia is probably the best place for the latest driver. Regarding the game, have you checked to see if there is any patches from the site?

Bloatware - do you mean also the extra Asus utilities and apps that came with the system?

I have an ATI card but not sure which drivers to download? Back in the day I used to go to an Omega driver site for ATI drivers which were essentially mobility drivers of the desktop versions.

Yes, bloatware meaning a lot of the programs that were already preinstalled.

The game seems to be running well when bluetooth is turned off and sugarsync. Trial by error I suppose.

There you go

ATI just came out with the latest 10.7 but the best way to go is to pick the latest one from ASUS for the moment. The G73 is a special comp, I would not play with Omega or some modded drivers on this machine.

Okay so I guess I have the latest drivers from Asus since they were released in January?

Yep. And hopefully they can get the 10.7 version into their database asap, since it is a good version.

cheers ...
