Well I bought this laptop new three years or more ago towards the tail end of when they stop selling it. I've had problems with dc and since I do know something about putting a computer together, never a laptop I opened it up and tried to figure things out. At first i saw a solder spot missing or gone from heat. I tapped it with solder and seemed to have fixed the problem to a certain degree. Soon as you connect the power cable you need to immediatly hit the power button to get it turned on. once its on its ok unless you turn it off, you have to let it cool. Now I guess after a year of doing this, the power cable seems to be getting real hot. it is well ventelated and turn it off to avoid any more problems. I have tinkered with it a bit, now it seems that it will only turn on with battery which of course has long been dead and will die in the boot process. I really dont want to invest any money into this but since all the post are so old I thought I see if anyone has ever really gotten a fix on this model?
