It seems that the partnership between Steam and Apple has made the devs paying more attention to its OpenGL performance under OS X which is to be desired to say the least at the moment.

We all hope (rumors) that with the upcoming 10.6.5 better GPU drivers will be tweaked and inserted to make gaming up to par with Windows.

Hardware is there, now go for it (software) Cupertino gals/guys

OS X 10.6.5 preparation is now in the hands of the developers since last Friday, now that the analysis phase is over. The new pie is being stamped 10H525 (aka 10.6.5).

2 important issues are to be corrected with the coming version:
- iTunes interface Music Store
- connection errors with Exchange Server

Concentration will be made in the area of compatibilities with iCal, Mail, X11, QuickTime and graphic drivers.

Graphic drivers, yes - we should see the latest implementation of a slew of drivers that were being made available to Apple developers that in effect improving gaming under the Mac We can thank Valve for pointing this out to Apple in May, about the mediocre game performance.

Mac OS X 10.6.5 should be made available by year end.

cheers ...
