i5 520m vs P8600

So I am picking up a m17x with the i5 520M and Crosssfire 5870s...

Is the 520m bad? Will it be able to take full advantage of the GPUs?

How does it compare to the P8600?

Currently, most games are still based on a dual-core (as opposed to multicore) CPU setup. That means that the dual-core i5 is powerful enough to run pretty much anything out there well. As to the i5-540M vs the P8600, the i5 is between 35-40% more powerful. It's not even close.

I have a P8600 in my M4400 and an i5-540m in my new one, the i5 is about the same speed as a C2d X9100 [ slightly slower in my tests] that I used to have, the i5 is the hottest of the three by a long way idling 18degC higher than the X9100 and 25+ than the P8600.....I don't like the i5 that much
