Disable NCQ on Sager NP9285

Thread Starter
I just bought an NP9285. I have the BIOS set to use RAID and have configured the drives such that I have one 160GB SSD as the C: and the 2 other 160GB SSDs as a RAID0 320GB Array (D: ).
I have an external drive Fantom MDE2000 to use for backups. Connected via USB it works fine. I'd like to use the eSATA port for better performance. But I get a lot of timeout errors. I've tried a lot of things and none seem to work (driver versions, LPMD disable in registry, caches, etc etc. ) One last thing to try is to disable NCQ. How is this done?
I'm using Win 7 64bit, chipset is the ICH10R.

Can someone help me out?

eSATA does not really give any performance gains over USB ports, other than the extra power that drives the devices.

The only way I know how to disable NCQ (Native Command Queueing) is to disable AHCI within BIOS or via device manager properties. Not sure if that would give you any advantages. Have you tried contacting Fantom itself for tips or patches as why it would time out on eSATA port and not normal USB port?

cheers ...
