In my personal opinion, Acer has such high sales because they predominantly sell cheap products (as I said earlier). Most people only care about the price, looks, and some of the initial specs. And then they assume it's normal for a computer to have reliability problems, so they keep on buying more of the same cheap products when their old ones die.

We would insult the intelligence of consumers if we are saying that all people care about is price. Relying on this consumer attitude alone would not allow any (cheap) products to survive.
"The best products do not always sell as well as inferior ones, but they're still worth buying over higher selling products that don't hold up as well" can be expanded to cover "good for money and performance products that hold up as well as expensive ones" - expensive product does not always equal to best product!
"The best products do not always sell as well as inferior ones, but they're still worth buying over higher selling products that don't hold up as well" is also a well worn used advert slogan

To repeat my post above, we are talking about different markets here. Acer is doing well and striving in Europe by not selling sub-par products. Consumers here are not paying cheap price either. The simple fact that Acer must, like any other manufacturers, conform to the warranty rule of a full 2 years of service speaks volume of its products, besides another fact that the rate of break-down of Acer system is on par with the rest.
cheers ...
