Notebook novice in need of advice re: HPs

Hi,

I have been looking for a laptop for a couple of weeks now, and am only slightly less confused than before. Some people on here have been a great help, but the computers they suggested are out of my price range because I need a 15" with Windows 7 (see here). I have seen the HP Pavilion DV6-3032TX with windows for $1400 AU, and the HP DV6-3078TX for $1691 AU without Windows.

My questions:

1) Are either of these good computers? Everyone keeps telling me the HPs break easily
2) Is it worth paying more for the 3078 model?

Merci!

1) They look good in specs, especially the 3032. And yes, everyone will also tell you that Dell, Toshiba, Acer etc are just as lousy

2) The 3032 with the Core i7 offers more bang for less buck according to the links you put up.

cheers ...

Ooh, I think they made a mistake on the at link. The specs for the 3078 are different here: http://www.techbuy.com.au/p/149625/N...HP/XG232PA.asp

I see. You were right, that was $500 extra for the 2 extra gig of ram. Forget it.

cheers ...
