Acceptable replacement for my inspiron 1520?

So my laptops 2.5 years old and Dell have agreed to replace my inspiron 1520 with a new laptop as they've replaced nearly all the components in it and it still sucks. It sounds like an electric drill now as well. You can hear the laptop from the other side of my house!!!

So here's the specs:

Here's my current laptop:

INSPIRON 1520

INSPIRON 1520 CORE 2 DUO T7250 2.00GHZ
15.4" WIDESCREEN WXGA+ (1440X900) TFT
MIDNIGHT BLUE COLOUR WITHMICROSATIN FINISH
MEMORY DUAL-CHANNEL 2048MB(2X1024) 667MHz
160GB (5,400 RPM) SATA HARD DRIVE
NVIDIA? GEFORCE GO 8600M GT WITH 256MB

Replacement laptop offered

INSPIRON 1564 ( wtf is that?? Is that Inspiron 15R??)

Intel i3-350M (2.26MHz) Mobile CPU
15.6" High Definition (1366 * 768 ) WLED
LCD Back Cover : Ice Blue
Memory: 2048MB (2*1024) 1067MHz DDR3 Dual Channel
Hard Drive : 250GB Serial ATA (5400RPM)
Graphics : 512 MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330

So obvious things:

Improvement in processor, not sure how much improvement though.
Downgrade in graphics card. Won't be able to do any gaming on a 4330.
Downgrade in monitor pixels, have no clue about the other stats for the screen. WLED, TFT?
Slight improvement in memory and hard drive.
WTF ICE BLUE!!! I paid for my midnight blue microsatin finish!

Overall i would say a rubbish 1st attempt by Dell :P

What do people think? What specs are reasonable to ask for? I'll definitely be after a much better graphics card.

yeah i would say the GPU is about 40 % slower, and the screen is a down grade.

CPU I would request at least a I5 CPU

Time to call them back and escalate the issue

Should I be aiming for a minimum of studio 15 as a replacement with a i5m, radeon 5470 and 4gb ram or is that asking too much?

It also seems that screens are now 1366x768 or 1900x1080. I doubt they would give a 1900x1080.

there is no harm in trying,

but the CPU and GPU are a defiinite must

Rang them up after a bit of back and forth the best machine they could offer was:

They originally offered to changed the radeon to 4330 to 5450 on the inspiron 1564. However the monitor was still 1300x768 so in order to get a 1440x900 they changed the model to studio 1558

So they offered a Studio 1558 (brand new not refurbished):

i3-350m 2.26ghz
1920x1080 WLED
2048mb ram
1gb radeon mobility 5470
horizontle del infinito in red lcd back cover
250gb hard disk 5400rpm
vista 7
office 2007 home +student
a new 3 year warranty

I couldn't get an i5m . Oh well but there's nothing wrong with a i3 compared to a t7250.

So really happy with this, only thing i need to do is buy a 2gb ram to boost it up to 4gb.

Paid about 700 pounds 2.5years for the inspirion 1520 2.5years ago and this laptop i would say is worth about 800 with the extras and the warranty so

Yep - that is a good replacement. You can always replace/upgrade the i5 at a later time.

cheers ...
