TOSHIBA A75-S229 Display wiring problem

Greetings all,
.......I have a TOSHIBA A75-S229 (PSA70U-00E00G) laptop....Motherboard bad...Waiting for replacement....

....From the display are 2 wires 1 BLACK and 1 WHITE that disappear through a hole centrally located in the case....(they are not the ribbon connectors but, resemble a "snap/slide-on" METALLIC connector of sorts)....

.... While disassembling, the wires popped off their designated place on the motherboard...

.....WHERE (circuit designation or pict or schematic) do these wires connect as there also appears to possibly be a polarity for them?....I THINK I have located the area/connection point(s) but, need better magnification.....THANKS

Can you use the dis-assembly guide (in our stickies) and look at the picture of the wire connectors? It would be easier

Guess not that easy, they show no close up shot.

Post #3, you might be lucky to see if your model schematic is in there. If not, try p.m. the member.

Strange....I just replaced an A70 LCD a few months ago on one of my laptops and dont recall a Black and White set of wires on the LCD...I recall a red and white set (inverter) and the ribbon cable...and I used the instructions in the stickies for LCD replacement....

thanks for the reply!...yes, there are/were 2 wires (b+w) coming down from the display that i accidentally pulled loose from the main board......my main board arrives today sometime via fed ex and unless i can figure out where they go, the board is useless...i do not know if polarized (voltage) but, don't want to risk blowing up board or blowing up display....

......i have not had the opportunity to place the board under a very large lighted magnifying glass/lamp but, that may do little good if i don't know the polarity...ugh!....

....(note, the previous owner had "gotten into" this laptop so, there may exist the possibility that he subbed out the wires....it is also possible that the wires you speak about are the same ones i may be speaking about!...yours comes down from the display to the main board?...with a tiny connector attached to the ends?...what does the inverter do?...THANKS AGAIN!

FOOTNOTE;

....i think i may have figured out where the wires go...i was looking at the Toshiba disassembly guide and notice the wireless card.

...not sure if it had wires on it when i removed it but, noticed that the wires are BLACK AND WHITE!....(possibly wires used as antenna for card?)...

....i see no other B+W wires attaching to anything with the type of connectors used...see pict (if it attaches properly).

Yep! those are wireless antenna that run behind the LCD in many models.

The inverter is the small circuit board below the LCD as you disassemble it and has a read & white set of wires going in one side and a red and white set leaving the other side...it is part of the video circuitry.......but still find it weird as I did not run into any black and white wires and mine also has wireless capabilities...I recall removing the inverter and the ribbon cable and thats it......hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

....Thanks for the reply!....yup, in fact are the wireless wires....PHEW!...now i face another problem (what else is new!).....the motherboard that was shipped to me is lacking a small card reader on the other side of the board opposite the "dummy pc card reader" as it appears to be called...

.....the "small card reader" does NOT appear to be detachable in any way....so, i notified the company but will probably have to wait until monday to get a reply...their customer service (communications) really suxxxks!

Take a closer look, maybe the card reader is there but the cover is not, you might need to transfer it over. Best way is to load up some pics for us.

.....nope, card reader is ABSENT from new board and no way to remove one from existing bad board...here are a few picts of a not so good quality....for everything else there appears a "socket" to plug into but, you can see where there isn't even a riser soldered to the board to plug the reader module into...

Ouch. Hope they can give you a replacement with these modules present.

......see what i mean?....if i get "whacked" by the company, i still may be able to use the board but will have no small media card reader....and i will be pi$$ed.....
