Quadro FX 2800m/3800m in 15" laptop??

I have tried very hard to find a 15" workstation with better graphic card. I am using M4400 with FX 1700m at the moment. The best i can find is M4500 with FX1800m. Is there any other brand that offer 15" workstation laptop with better Quadro cards? the laptop must support replicator (with slot at bottom of laptop)

I know regular laptop may offer better graphic card, but I must use workstation laptop so the choice has been limited.

Have you looked into HP Elite Series notebooks?

Major laptop manufacturers have been searched and no luck. HP offers slightly better than Dell at Ati M5800.

In Nvidia website starts from FX2800m and above are for 17" form factor. Is it not possible to put it in 15"?

you pretty much have to move up to the 17 inch line to hold a larger GPU

Just come to know Clevo has announced T5110 not too long ago, I hope the dock station can accomodate something FX2800m or higher; or 5870m/470m is even better.

Anyone know which Clevo partner has T5110 for sale?

Why do you need a port replicator???

my 15" has a very powerful fx 3700m- on the inside. it was easily possible cost me under 200$ and so will the fx 2800m if thats what you want, it fits quite easily in many 15" notebooks as well as the 5870
you should prioritize here, you dont need a docking station for the graphics, what, so you need 8 usb ports?

I need dock port for easy installation, so that i do not need to plug in power adapter, 4-5 usb equipment, lan cable, dvi cable, esata cable, ps2 cable bla bla... the dock station is in use like 2-3 times a day so having it is very convenience to me. USB dock station is a fake dock station and i do not want that.

Your 15" has 3700m inside? that is impressive, is there any laptop manufacturer other than Clevo that can do that? Please let me know!

hmm, it seems that DisplayLink will come out with USB 3.0 docking solution. This may eliminate the dock port requirement and i can have more choices. Sandy Bridge also announced, might as well wait for the release. Too bad no integrated USB 3.0 in sandy bridge.

yes there are 2 other manufacturers that will do it for sure, alienware (of course) and MSI.
MSI might have some business laptops, idk its worth looking into.

funny though, the actual fx 3700m card i have was not made by any of them, its an HP for the 8730w kinda ironic

You know what? you need basically your own perfect customized port layout, right?
why dont you just build something? or i'd be willing to do it for you.
expresscard probably has enough bandwidth for everything you need. Then you can just buy a bunch of cheapo chinese adapters and extension cables and build it all into an enclosure.

i guess that would still be 'fake' though.

you know whats funny, i was going to mention this earlier but the hp 8530w can have a fx 2700m... which is like, exactly what would need if the newer ones and fx 1800m weren't better - its not really worse either however.

now, whats even stranger is that there exist 4870 cards of the same form factor that would fit an 8530p or even 8510p, but VERY few were ever made and there wouldnt be bios support or sufficient cooling.
if only we could manufacture things...

It is ok dude, thx for your advice so far. I decide to wait until the newly announced Sandy Bridge platform is pushed to the market, shouldn't be far from now.

I will keep on with my old Dell M4400 with FX1700m for the time being.

USB 3.0 seems able to make a better dock station than what USB 2.0 currently can offer. I just hope there is no choppy or laggy display while connecting to external monitor through the dock station.
