Acer Aspire 5940G-724G50Bn Factory Recovery Disc

Hello boys/girls,

I'm looking like crazy for the Acer Factory Recovery Disc for my Aspire 5940G. It seems like you can only get it from Acer for a sum of money. I'm trying to find someone who already has one and can help me out.

No one owns this type of laptop also and has made a full back-up as soon as he got it out of the box? Those discs I think would also be very very useful.

Best bet is to bite the bullet and buy a set...Something that new, there wouldnt be any disks that came with the machine...the only recovery disks would be homemade ones by those who bought it..If you want a professional set, then its buying from Acer...$40 bucks or so would be a cheap price...actually I went to the acer site and priced out mine :

yeah I wanted to do that but then I found out that there is no Acer Support in my country and they can't ship the product from other countries.

Bummer. Got any friends/relatives in the part of the world where they can ship to?

Still I can't accept that Acer would not support it, the product is being sold, support must be made available - escalate!

well, there is another problem. I tryied to do that but in order for them to send you those discs to another country you have to register the product to acer on the acer website from that country and they won't accept mine because it hasn't been bought in their country.

I hate Acer. I had the possibility to buy Asus M60J but they wanted me to wait for it 2 weeks, this one was available in 2 days. X(X(

I would take the system back to where you bought it and ask for assistance. Or write to the nearest ACER office and explain. Make noises - seriously. It is not like you don't want to pay for the disks, but you have an issue with the product that needs to be addressed.

. if so what happens on the next page after you put in your serial number (SNID)?

it says my SNID is invalid.


the ****** is not important. it was the place from where I have bought it.

Do we have a way to get this info across? The member is willing to buy/pay but ACER support site would not let it go through due to invalid SNID. I see this happening before when the system was being sold in the countries where no official support from ACER is present.

It might help to send an email to Acer from some of the "high paid help" here on NBF...Tell them situation is coming up quite often and would like some clairification on purchasing recovery media

Curious, are you in Europe or North America. Would it hurt to possibly generalize...Not looking for your home address or anything..just a little idea

I'm in East Europe. I wasn't trying to hide anything.

Anyway, the only thing I found out it is on ebay. It's a disc with drivers for the Acer Aspire 5940G series. But that's nothing. The drivers can be found on the internet(with some exceptions).
