You might need a SATA driver to be slip streamed into an XP installation disk or it is possible that this model blocks out XP installation.

And yes, make sure that you can find XP drivers first before changing the OS since many new devices don't offer drivers for XP

cheers ...

what am i really trying to do is improve the gaming expirience on this laptop i know this is not even close to be a gaming one but i try to put it at max settings like increasing 2 or 4gb more of ram, make an overclock to the processor, what i really dont know is, wich windows will be best for improving the fps in game windows xp, the manufacturer windows 7 home basic 64bits, or if it will be better windows 7 ultimate 32bits.

by doing those 3 changes will i notice the fps increase?

and thx for the answer!

If you get a stop error message with 0x000000 or so on after it when trying to install XP, it is most likely a driver issue, not a 'missing driver'... A lot of new laptops (ones that came preinstalled with Vista or win7) will not downgrade to XP due to hardware and BIOS limitations... If you have a win7 licence on your laptop, it is pointless wasting it by downgrading as win7 is a newer and better operating system (Vista I could probably understand)... Sony's are notoriously difficult to find downgraded drivers for too... And, big and, they usually come with a recovery partition at the front of the hard drive, if you do not wipe that out a downgrade will throw up all sorts of issues from non installing to odd drive numbers....
