Gateway M-7331H keyboard not working

Thread Starter
I recently purchased a Gateway model M-7331H (CLGATM7331H) laptop, manufactured 2009/01/14 which originally had Vista installed.
I purchased this laptop with Windows 7 installed and was advised by the seller that the keyboard was not working. When using an external USB keyboard, the laptop works perfectly. I was not provided any drivers or the original Gateway reinstallation disc. It does not seem that the original partition containing reinstallation drivers I would like to have Windows 7 but do not know how to get the keyboard functioning and am not sure if this is a driver or hardware issue.
Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Stressed

Sounded like a keyboard hardware issue to me. You can try removing it and physically check the connection, making sure that the ribbon cable is seated correctly.

Is there a tut that you can point me to for this. Thank you

I can't find any service guides online, but removing the keyboard normally requires the removal of the screws at the bottom, and then lifting the keyboard up by pressing the latches out.

Use this as a reference.

Not really, another keyboard is your best bet at the moment.
