Hi folks,
New to this forum, had a few problems with my graphics card on my m1710 and called the XPS support line (had loads issues was a refurbished laptop, even had laptop replaced once as well), after jumping through the usual hurdles I was offered two options
1) Dell service engineer would come round replace graphics card
2) Get £500 off any dell laptop and I would have hand in my XPS M1710.
I ask dell that I want a laptop capable of 1920 x 1200 resolution and the only one they could offer was the Alienware M17x. I argued it was way way way to expensive and I only paid £850.00 for my XPS M1710 and they should offer like for like replacements, haggled and haggled and eventually I got the following being offered, 3 years next business day warranty thrown in and the 17inch UXGA (1920x1200) RGBLED plus £500 pounds off list price. I ordered item below for total of £2014.00 - £500 = £1514.00.
Never paid more then £1,000 pounds for a laptop and was thinking about buying and replacing my XPS M1710 next year when Intel release all new processors and ssd gear and even support USB 3.0.
Do you guys think I got a good deal considering I have to relinquish my existing laptop plus pay £1514.00 for a new one?
Specs below what I am getting.
