Win 7 Home Premium Shut Down issue...

Hey guys,

I am having a real issue as of yesterday with Win 7 HM 64bit and shutting down.

Some Notes: I replaced the processor, optical drive, and wireless card yesterday.

I didn't remove the old wireless card driver or optical drive driver or uninstall them from the device manager (because I am an idiot)

The issue is if I run the computer for about an hour or so and go to shut down, the screen turns off but the lights, fans, etc. are still on. I have to manually shut it down by holding the power button down. Upon restart, I don't get an error stating "Windows was not shut down Properly" or anything like that.

However, if I run the computer for about 10 min and shut down, then I have no problems... any ideas?

Enter the BIOS and ensure ACPI,APM or APIC is enabled.... Check device manager for any exclamation marks and ensure your motherboard, video card and wireless drivers are up to date... If that fails you may need to update the BIOS.. (If it is the setup in your signature, your BIOS may be limited with the power options...).
