Brief question, how do they compare performance wise? The desktop processor is cheaper of course. The 960 may be up for consideration as well.

The desktop CPUs are more powerful, which makes sense considering they're clocked considerably higher and using the same technology. However, you can't swap a notebook CPU for a desktop CPU or vice versa on any system. If you've got one of the Sagers that uses a desktop chipset, then you can only use desktop CPUs in it. If you have one that uses a mobile chipset, then you can only use mobile CPUs. You can't mix and match between desktop and mobile processors.

Right, I am deciding between the 8850, which uses mobile processors up to the 940xm, and the 7280 which uses desktop processors from the 950 to the 980x. I'm going to end this and start a new thread for opinions. Thanks.
