Battery Charging, but only for 7 seconds.

Thread Starter
Laptop: Acer Aspire 7735z
OS: Windows 7 (Upgrade).

After booting into Windows the battery begins to take a charge , but only for about 7-8 seconds.
Replaced the battery, same problem.
Checked the voltage from the charger (With an ohm meter)perfect.
If your advice is to update the bios (Have not tried)I have a question.
Inside the bios zip file from Acer, the "read me" file says to click on the bat file. So I am assuming this is to be done from within Windows.
If this is not correct and I will have to boot from a flash drive, were might I find a step by step bios update guide ?
Also if possible a guide to back up/restore the original bios.

Thanks so much, Charles

Is there any flex to the end of the jack for dc power to laptop...sometimes the jack connection to the powerboard is broken and a little flexing keeps the charge light on..I'm not a big fan of BIOS updates unless the update specifically addresses a known problem on your machine.... a BIOS update because it is newer will not necessarily be the answer to your problem but could end up being a bigger problem by turning your laptop into a doorstop (non functioning)
Have you tried this:
