Is there a trick to force fan full speed? M5500i-r3? - Page 3

There's got to be something that I'm doing wrong. Your data .cs appears fine with m5500i-R3 throughout (case correct too).

I'm attaching the screen for proof.

Let simplify the script a bit. Hang on a minute.

Try the attached package...

I can feel progress in the air - thank you!

It's still showing as "ACPI Control System is not yet configured for this system". The Enable ACPI control system is grey'd out for Pro (paid) users. The options tab screen (attached) shows the not for FREE users restriction.

Can you assist me in being able to control the temperatures?

Also delete the dll after closing NHC, the dll is created new upon every startup I think.
And please also show me a screenshot of this tab in NHC and the section on the right-hand side.

ACPI control system also works for Free-users, believe me the free version is just as good for your purposes as PRO. There must be something different the way the new NHC version interprets the xml info, or reads it out...

Have you tried checking the Enable ACPI Control system box?

Please also show me a screenshot of this tab in NHC and the section on the right-hand side.

Are you sure you are using the latest official 2.4.3 release:
http://www.pbus-167.com/nhc/nhc.htm#anchor_download
and not some beta-version?

Can you choose the manufacturer name "Alienware" above the "m5500*whatever"?
Maybe then the Enable..... box is selectable.
And are you using the latest files I provided?

Sure am.

Using Win7 32bit.

Do you know if an older version works fine?

Can you show me the check box for enabling ACPI control system on your unpaid version?

Great. now more progress. Sorry about that one (drop down menu).

How to set the ACPI controls visionary user? Does the NHC use the .cs data to control the temperature readings?

Can you assist further?

Should my firstborn ever going to be such a hard delivery, I'll definitely shoot myself...
Now tick manual Fan control enabled, turn it on
and choose the speed.
You can also fiddle around with auto, though it might be buggy after fan speed max and the fan won't turn off anymore, it sometimes behaves weird like that (if ever, I only use manual control).

LOL.

Childbirth must be easier - good luck!

OK, problem - see next screen shot. I don't have that fan control option.

Remember that we simplified the .cs file? Anything?

Your English is A1, 100% and I'm grateful for your help. Du bist Bayerisch?

Yep, Bavarian born and bred.
For some reason the script is not active.
I wish I hadn't flashed my other PI from ALienware Bios back to Fujitsu, then I could troubleshoot on my other machine, but for the time being I'm at a loss.
Maybe you want to pm me for a remote desktop connection?

http://ultrashare.de/f/4453/Alienware_ACPI.zip.html

I hope those work out of the box for you after copying them into the ACPI folder of NHC, at least they should, can't test it.

I have uploaded your file here also in case the link goes out in the near future. You can access yourself over DTF as well.

cheers ...
