You might be right, but mine also seem to be a bit early, because...

I found the problem. And: the LEDs could be right, it IS the motherboard! Yesterday I tried almost all you told me. Except getting off the CPU cooler. But nothing helped. And I thought: maybe there really is something bad? So I searched for any damages on the mainboard. And: I found one.

After searching with a magnifier I found a scratch. It could happen during the opening of the case. This scratch cuts a slightly bigger and a very small circuit path...

It seems to be my fault, now back to the question: is dell selling the board only? To endusers? Should I ask the support?

They do sell them on eBay if Dell cannot help you out. Good luck.

Uh, oh, no, sorry bout that. I put it together now and the next 2 weeks I won't have the time to get back to this piece of hardware (the main reason for what I needed it, now I have another laptop which is not that powerful, too bad). Maybe in 2 weeks!

Hope you sort thing out UWP. For some things eBay can be a good source (warranty even) when it gets tight

my dell latitude 2100 won't start anymore. when i power on the laptop it blinking the three button. but sometimes it blinking number nine the button that is near a power button. i need help

Try taking it apart and clean it up inside? Re-Seat the ram modules and hard drive?
