Help! ACER Aspire 5920G completely dead:(

All,
I have an Acer Aspire 5920G and yesterday while I was working on it, with the laptop connected to AC power, it suddenly went completely dead.
Now, nothing happens when I press the power switch, no lights, nothing.
What could have gone wrong? It has been working perfectly fine the last 18 months
Has the battery died completely?? or could this be something more serious? How do I check?
Any help would be great ....

Any heat???were you using it on your lap or a desk/table? If you have been running it for 18 months or so has it ever been air blown out. Can you see the fans thru the vent holes on the bottom...are they covered in dust???

No, I haven't noticed any overheating as such. And I always use the laptop in my study, never on my lap. It's never been air blown
I'll check these things and post again ..
Thanks anyway.

You can buy cans of compressed air at most electronic stores...make sure that the unit is unplugged, and when spraying keep the can upright...if upside down or sideways, sometimes water comes out....not good...stick the end of a paper clip through the a fan screen hole and isolate the fan while spraying to keep it from over rotating. Spray around under the keyboard before turning the laptop upside down
