Hey all,

I got tired of waiting for my new alienware w/ ati 9700, absurd wait period and absurd pricing, considering i was 3 weeks into my order already when i changed to ati 9700. So i called up and cancel my order. Only good thing was financing, but now i got enough money to get myself a Sager 5690 w/o financing.

Sager 5690 @ $2200

p4 3.2ghz w/ht
1gig ram
ati 9700 w/ 128mb
15" uxga
60gig 7200rpm hdd
dvd/cdrw combo

since i live 30 mins away, already called them, once i order i can come pick up!!!

good lord i read the topic for this post and thought that alienware had cancelled the whole product line..damn near had a heart attack

Whats your problem. He can post what he wants where he wants.

I want to hear why he was willing to give up on the Alienware name,looks and general appeal. He definitely made a sacrifice somewhere...should be interesting to know why he considered alienware in the first place.

I think this buyer didnt do his homework properly and then changed his mind midway through the process. Either that or his priorities changed at some point of time...

Can't you read? He just said why he choose Sager over Alienware, due to absurd pricing and wait period. Check out the first post....

Anyways, I got a problem with the way he worded the title of his post under the alienware forum. It's just inflamatory, like he's trying to start something.

Let's say the shoe was on the other foot, and I did "Sager Cancelled, Long live Alienware!!!!!!" on the Sager forum. I would of gotten flamed.

Buy anyways congrats.

His enthusiasm probably made him use those words but if it itches you so badly why bother reading?

Flame wars start when people start taking offense - why do you take all this so personally? Are you the CEO of alienware or something? Why are you trying to "clan" up and take sides. Try to use this place to learn something - this thread is a chance for you to understand this guys thinking and decision making process.

No one is clanning up and taking sides. Congrats to him. Did I say anything bad about Sager?

LOL looks like your the sensitive one. We all know Sager's are the best bang for the buck, they are great machines and PCTorque is a great reseller.

I used to take offense - realized that its not worth it - changed attitude.

I suggest you change yours too.

Its not that simple you know. When you set your sights on something...no matter how sensible or stupid it may be - you either really want it but simply cant get it - or you arent sure.

Like - you order a Ferrari and then cancel coz you want a Porsche. Same if not better performance, lesser price etc.

Now how can someone giveup on the ferrari if they could afford it in the first place. I find this aspect of psychology interesting because I am the kind of guy who can afford a porsche but not the ferrari...yet I end up getting the ferrari

This does not translate to Alienware vs Sager coz we all know where I stand on this subject...

Think of this as psychology 101 Interesting - this is the kind of question a you could be asked in an interview. It is actually a well documented marketing psychology study paradigm - Where does choice figure in a purchase?

Brilliant stuff...this thread has potential...deep and hidden but its there alrite...and it has nothing to do with Sager or Alienware - its got everything to do with the guy who started this thread and his mind.

hmmm...now I know why I dont have a bunch of people intent on having a conversation with me...I go too deep
