Looking to push the device forward RIM has made known that its AppWorld is open to developers. Furthermore testing and developing units will be offered to developers if their apps can be readily submitted by February 1st 2011.
Delayed into May 2011 due to battery performance issue. Currently all tests pointed to a 2hours plus performance, way behind Samsung Tab (6hrs+) and iPAD (10hrs+).
