Very cool. It's neat to see the differences in tablets. This one reminds of the tiles in the windows tablets.

The problem is as I've seen in the reviews is some of the tablets are coming with older versions of Android. There is even one being sold at Walgreens (a pharmacy here in the USA).
Some of the older Android versions won't do Flash.

When you work with Android devices you rely pretty much on your own and the help from Android enthusiast to root and update the versions. Paying x100's more for a newer Android version from a manufacturer is overkill laugh4.gif

This is where Apple iPad competitors fail winknudge.gif

Rushing out expensive hardware with unfinished software support can only damage the chance of its gaining the foot hold in a competitive market. Sure one can argue about a revision bla bla bla, but the introduction of a product without its advertised benefits should not justify any high introductory prices.

... and watch out here .. from Google

"Deprecation of Gmail App for BlackBerry
Released on 11/08/2011
Beginning November 22, 2011, we will end support for the Gmail App for Blackberry (installed native app). Over this past year, we've focused efforts on building a great Gmail experience in the mobile browser and will continue investing in this area.

Users may continue to use the app, if installed, however it will not be supported by Google, or available for download starting November 22. BlackBerry users can continue to access Gmail through the mobile web app at http://www.gmail.com in their BlackBerry web browser

Giving away to sysadmins with a catch ... it is getting desperate here winknudge.gif

I could never understand this business thinking plan - just pull the whole bloody ding out of the market for a few months, leave the developers alone and give them a good goal as what this ding is all about, go back to the basic of what Blackberry is all about (what exactly is it all about?) then re-launch it

Went for $199 a while back for the 16GB model, and now this .... These people should take a long hard look at their marketing and sales strategy, seeming that they are running around like a bunch of healess chicken ... Sad!

Well I guess that this is the end of the line, RIM is following HP to go back concentrating on the core business instead of pollution dilution winknudge.gif

BlackBerry maker to cede most consumer markets

Well, looking like another change of heart ... RIM will not abandon consumer market, they gonna just have to review their business plan to go after targeted consumer market headscratch.gif

So, RIM is discounting its Playbook devices again, for another 20 quids discount. They are running like chicken without head at the moment.

Either they get rid of the devices by going almost-full giveaway like HP did with its Touchpad OR, stop selling the devices and waiting until the latest 2.1 OS that seems to claim transparent (seamless) working with Android Apps then sell them delivered with this OS version.

Wondering if RIM is outsourcing its Product Management laugh4.gif
