hey can somebody please help me.... i live in vietnam and just took my dell d620 (originally bought in australia) to a repair shop in hanoi. the problem; i spilt water on the keyboard and it would not power up afterwards. i suspected a short circuit in the motherboard. the shop had it for 3 days and said the screen and keyboard are broken and that i need to buy new ones;US $130, but when they gave me back the laptop the had changed the screen! i could tell straight away. i had a matte screen before now its a glossy screen! unbelievable the stuff they do over here! i then took it to another repair shop (very trustworthy) and they fixed it (the motherbaord) and told me that the keyboard is fine, but the screen is broken.i explained to them that the previous shop i took it to changed the screen and im 100% sure that with the mainboard now fixed my original screen will also surely work. the problem now is getting it back from the shop. they speak no english and my friend has argued with them on the phone and they said some crap like we gave it to another shop to fix (dont believe them) and you need signed paper and stuff, not liable etc. im planning to go back to the shop with some friends to help me,it might get a bit ugly. can anyone tell me the serial number or any other important information about the dell d620 lcd screen? maybe a digi photo of the screen, or if anyone has any other ideas to help me......
this country drives me so crazy sometimes, ive been here 2 years now and the amount of stuff some of these people try and pull, they really just dont care at all.
