I got my M1730 back from Dell on Friday Oct 15th...
I opened the box, the first thing I notice is that my battery was removed from the notebook and was just laying loose in the box, so it had been clunking around in the box during shipping, unsecured to anything.
Then I notice a little bag, and in the bag is my hard drive cable (which was still in the notebook and connected to my motherboard when I shipped it to them). Why they couldn't put it back in and reconnect it is beyond me. I don't know if they assumed I needed to have it out to connect my hard drives or what, who knows..
I cleaned my notebook real well before sending it, and I get it back with smudge marks all over the case like someone had been eating donuts while working on it.
Ok, so enough with the minor issues..
I plug in my hard drives, boot it up, I use it for a while, Im happy, problem seems to be solved, then I get up and walk away, and the system had gone into standby while I was gone.
So, I wake the system up from standby and what do I see? The entire screen is distorted. Had circles and squares and it kept changing colors.......
So, this same thing happened with the first 8700M GT to the point I just disabled standby, and I will probably have to disable standby again because I never was able to get around this problem with the GPU.
Now I wonder if this card isn't going to do the same thing as the last one. Do I assume I have 1 year or less of life in this new GPU?
Should I demand a different card as a replacement?
