NVIDIA GPU Update: NVIDIA Class Action Settlement and Limited Warranty Enhancement - Page 2

Im going to have to call Dell again. This 'replacement' video card is going out. Starting to do the same crap as the last one.

Im starting to get random lines when playing games and last night I was playing Dungeons and Dragons online, and some of the NPC's have these golden challises over their heads. Well, my PC froze for a moment, then unfroze, and when it unfroze, all the challis turned to gold squares. If I alt+enter I could get them to go back to challis, but then Id lock up again and they would go back to being squares.

Then I was having a problem with everything freezing briefly then unfreezing, over and over and over again while trying to play. Was definitely the GPU because I could hear its fans kick on to high every time this would happen while the freeze would last.

Couldn't they at least put a GPU in here that would last more than 2 weeks? I mean, the defective one lasted a year, so what did they put in here, a super defective one?

Im frustrated

I don't even believe they put a new GPU in my notebook. I think they just did something to the card that was already in it to get it to work for a short period of time and I have no way to prove it.

This is why I wanted them to send me the replacement card to put in myself. So I actually knew there was a new GPU going in my system.

You might want to push for a full notebook replacement romes. It sounds like a chicken game to me from Dell at this point.

Ok, well I decided to go online with the online technical support chat.

Frustrating as it is it seems I can't get any guarentees from Dell on anything.

They want me to send my noteboot back to the Dell Depot for testing and another GPU replacement.

They cannot give me a guarantee that I will get a new model GPU, they totally refuse to offer me a new model as replacement and won't do a system replacement due to the only part under warrenty in my system being the GPU.

So, looks like the only thing they will work with is the GPU but can only guarantee that I'll get a replacement of the same model or different model (if they so choose).

Will keep ya posted. Waiting for another box and then it will be shipped out.

On a funny note. These chat representatives totally flip out if you leave the chat window open after they are done. They will keep saying 'Please close the chat window.'

LOL
