m285e battery question

My m285e battery is about shot. The original is an 8 cell battery, they also is a 12 cell replacement. Listed on the gateway website is 3 different wattage of chargers. Will I need a higher watt charger for the bigger battery?

Gateway support chat was less than helpful because I didn't have the dang serial number, I can't help the crappy sticker became unreadable over the years.

Yes, you would need another charger to go with a larger battery, in most case. You can try to use a marker to re-trace the serial number (I do on mine)

RE serial number...download and install BelarcAdvisor.....its free and will give that info and more....or SIW (system info for Windows) again free and will supply that info and more (for SIW, look under the "system summary" in index on the left)
