Samsung q430 camera shutter noise

I just bought a Samsung q430-11 laptop from Best Buy and it is constantly making a camera shutter noise. It happens anywhere from every few seconds to every 10 minutes. This is the third one that I bought, as the two other ones had the same problem. I really like to computer, that is why I got another one. Is this shutter noise a major problem, or just something that this model seems to do? I don't want to take back another one, but the noise is driving me crazy. The only answer I can find about the noise is that it's the hard drive. Is this the problem on a brand new laptop? Thank you in advance to anyone who answers. I never posted here before, but this is the perfect computer for me with the exception of the noise and I need all the advice I can get. Thanks

Hard drives can make that kind of noise. The particular hard drive you have could be noisier than others as well. You could try cloning the data onto a different hard drive and then replacing your current drive with a quieter one. You could also replace your hard drive with a solid state drive that wouldn't make any noise at all, but those are typically very expensive so I don't know if it would be worth it to you.

So, does that mean that there is a problem with the hard drive, or just that the hard drive is going to make the noise no matter what? I just bought the computer, so if it's a major problem, I'll just take it back.

Boot the comp onto a LiveCD and run from it. See if the noise really comes from the hard drive first. We have a few Samsung here in the office and not one of them makes any noises like you described. Samsung notebooks tend to be very quiet.
