Acer Aspire 5633WLMi Display Problem (Help...)

Thread Starter
hi,
I have an Acer Aspire 5633 WLMi:
Intel Core 2 duo T5500 (1.66ghz, 667 Mhz, 2 mb l2 cache)
15.4” WXGA crystalbrite LCD
Intel Graphics media accelerator 950 (update drivers)

120 gig HDD
2gb ddr2 ram
802.11a/b/g wireless LAN

For almost 20 days, I presented a problem in the display.
Sometimes it does not turn on my computer and displays a screen with colored lines parallel and perpendicular.
Other times, when in use and functioning properly display the same problem or completely blackens the screen. If you shake up and down the screen returns to normal display.

What could be my problem?
Any ideas what's wrong and how to fix it?

I expect your opinion

Thanks
George

Try hooking it up to an external monitor (desktop) and leave it run for a while to see if the problem is still there...if not, then its likely your lcd and maybe inverter....if problem is still there or acts the same as without the monitor, then its likely your motherboard (GPU) graphics..which would mean a full motherboard replacement and you cannot change GPUs

ok, i'll check it my friend.
thanks

to clarify something
the problem with the screen it does not follow.
Example currently working on the computer this morning, I have restart about 10 times and has not presented a problem.
But I found that sometimes the screen flickers.

Has the laptop been apart before...if so, either the lcd or inverter connector could be loose...if it got bumped hard enough, one of those connectors could have come loose..there are disassembly instructions for the 5630 series laptop in the link

Try that first....the cheapest possible fix...if that doesnt work, then its undoubtedly the LCD screen...check out page 77 (disassembly of the lcd module)...looks like the inverter should only take you about 5 minutes to replace once you have the replacement)
