Aspire 6930g Internet Connection

Hi all,

As the title says, i'm having problems connecting to teh internet on my 6930g.

Wireless connection tends to disappear at random times, i've changed power setting in network adapter etc, and it still disappears. I've tried on another computer, and that loses signal as well, so i'm assuming i'll need a new wireless router.

I've also tried connecting via the ethernet port, which doesn't seem to work either. the ethernet connection works fine on other laptops, but i've no idea why it won't connect on the 6930. In network connections, it says that a network cable is unplugged, when it isn't. If i plug same cable in another laptop, doing nothing else (i.e. resetting in between), it connects no problem.

Any idea why the hard connection isn't working on the Acer? Something wrong with the driver?

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks.

Yep, that the 1st thing I would look at - drivers. Try getting the latest updates fromn either Acer support site or via Windows update.

checked the driver since posting, and it's up to date...so not that....any other ideas?

Nope - at this stage you can either try a WinSock fix or a complete re-installation of the OS as next steps

Have you checked with your internet provider, the loss of signal maybe their problem...they probably wont want to admit it, but its possible

thanks for your comments,

have established the problem, rather simply, it was just a dodgy connection between the ethernet cable/port. found out completely by accident!
