M9700 and FS2004 Graphics Adjustments

Hey all,

I cannot adjust any graphics settings in Flight Simulator FS2004 on my Alienware M9700 laptop. The in-game sliders are locked at zero, lowest settings.

Anyone know why this happens and how to get the sliders to work in FS2004?



Many thanks. I have asked this at many locations and no one could help. I hope someone here might know.

Thanks qhn, but unfortunately, the settings are 'locked' and unable to be adjusted. Everything is at far left slider settings.

Its really wierd.....

Patches from game site? Trying different GPU drivers?

Yes, did that. So far, I have reloaded newest drivers from nVidia, then latest drivers (slightly older) from Alienware, as well as the original Alienware drivers from the Respawn pack, which is a reload HD Disc image when it was shipped out.

What in the world could it be? Really perplexing. I spoke with (email) one of the original designers of FS and he has never heard of this happening as well. One person did, said it was a graphics card that couldnt run the game. I wonder if FS2004 cannot run SLI?

Possible - give it a try by disabling SLI

Did you ever get this solved? As I have FS2004 running on my M9700 with my two Nvidia 7900GS/256MB in SLI mode. I remember all sliders were to the left after the install. They might have been grayed out, I don't recall. But it didn't take me long to figure it out. Probably picking the 7900GS from the drop down menu or something.
