Win 7 Startup Repair every time?

Ok so I just upgraded my AW m9750 from Vista to Win 7. Now almost every time I start it up, I go through one or two rounds of Startup Repair. Every single time I start it up after shutting down for the night, this happens. Sometimes it only takes a minute, others it takes around 10 minutes. Sometimes after it runs through it, some of my data is reverted. My documents and stuff stay fine, but occasionally an update to antivirus or a printer install is gone. It's really irritating. Why in the world is it doing this? It's 32bit Home Premium version by the way.

Well I tried it, and the result was
"Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

Any other ideas? It's really starting to irritate me.

Do you have latest BIOS version for the machine?

I think so. I upgraded the BIOS about a year ago, and every time I do a search for it, the latest version says 2008 or something. I could be just looking in the wrong place though. I'll look again.

Also though. If there is an update for Vista BIOS, but I'm running 7, will it still work? I'm kinda in the dark about how this kind of stuff works.

BIOS is mostly machine specific. Unless it is being made to lock out certain OS, which I doubt very much in your case.

When you upgraded to win7 did you update or install the latest chipset and graphic drivers for your laptop?... It looks like it is having an issue shutting down due to the power interface between win7 and the laptop motherboard BIOS, causing file system corruption... This can sometimes be resolved by updaing drivers (check device manager for any exclamation marks too), but mainly with a BIOS update...

Well I just used MyHive to download the video and cpu BIOS updates they had and ran them. Hopefully they work. I'm a smidge worried about the cpu saying Vista only, but we'll see how it goes...

Ok, so the BIOS updates didn't help. Same blue screen system dump and then Startup Repair prompt. And yes, I updated the gpu drivers. That was one of the first things I did when I ran the Win 7 upgrade. As for the device manager. There were 3 drivers that needed updating, but I'm not sure what they are. Under "Other Devices" there are 2 "Base system device" and a "USB2.0 Camera". And the option of finding the driver automatically came up empty. Guess I'll check the MyHive again and see what else is there.

New problem... Now my wireless isn't working. Says there are no connections available when I know for a fact there are. It worked last night, and now it doesn't. Great... Any advice?
