From magazines, newspapers, chit-chatting and internet ... Please post and add in if you have any personal interesing dings that you like to share

- more USB 3.0 hubs and adapters are being rolled out, yet systems with 3.0 as standard are still tip-toeing (way) behind

- after all the humdrums about 3D-TV, most heavy players are now pushing it back to next year. So hold off that ding for the merry seasons

- notebook manufacturers are not contemplating in either raising their price or dropping their price more on the current inventory - so much for contemplation

- XFX to drop nVidia cards from its repertoire, I am sure that this is only temporary until XFX gets a better deal from nVidia

- AMD still not making $$ even after robust sale number (25 mil units sold) of its cards; keeping even with nVidia after the latest settlement announcement for knowingly selling bad cards (nasty blokes).

- after all the humbah about how bad Firefox with extensions, Opera now jumped on the band wagon with extensions (did I say repeat "extensions") in its ver 11

- loads of tablet annoucements, loads of not-yet-ready-to-show to consumers. I guess marketing departments are still working out market potentialities and pricing. Send them all to Apple to take seminars in this aspect.

- so now that Apple is being serious about gaming on its devices with Valve partnership, time for me to upgrade my macbook

- rumor about Dell moving/outsourcing AW outside USA in order to strengthen its financial situation and positioning itself for better customers support.

- Chineses are going nut with iPhone4, paying up to 1K USD for a 2nd hand device since Apple cannot keep up with the demand over there. Good time for a reverse eBay effect, Chineses buying from USA instead

- when most of Internet users suffering at 2-8MB/s average for their connections, the Koreans are expecting to see 1000MB/s connection from their current average of mid-100B/s; very unfair. No wonder it is the land for media contents transport and supporting devices.

Macbook Air with SSD?

Following up the rumors back in July 2010 about the new Macbook Air 11.6", this would be interesting ...

Quote:
Some possible specifications of the upcoming MacBook Air have surfaced and it claims that while the ultra thin notebook will sport an updated processor, it'll still be using a Core 2 Duo processor, possibly due to the legal dispute between Intel and NVIDIA over chipset licenses. Aside from the processor, the notebook will use an upgraded GeForce 320M chip to churn out the graphics and include a longer battery life. It has been mentioned that the price will be significantly lower than the current $1,499 asking price, which will be good news to prospective buyers. There was also a whisper of an all-SSD storage range, even on the basic MacBook Air, though it remains to be seen how such a move might impact the price. With Apple's upcoming event on the horizon, it shouldn't be too long before we find out the full details, and till then, we'd suggest you take all these rumored specs with a pinch of salt.

Intel to invest in USA

- Intel will spend $6-8 billion in manufacturing to support future technology advancements in Arizona and Oregon.
- The investment supports the creation of 6,000-8,000 construction jobs and 800-1,000 permanent high-tech jobs, and also allows Intel to maintain its current manufacturing employment base at these U.S. sites.
- The investment will fund a new development fab in Oregon, as well as upgrades to four existing fabs to manufacture the next-generation 22-nanometer (nm) process technology.
- Intel’s next-generation, 22nm microprocessors will enable sleeker device designs, higher performance and longer battery life at lower costs.

More here ..

Cool , no more of those crazy ES CPU floating around

I like this confirmed new better than the Dell AW's rumor
