I have a Hp Probook 4510s laptop which i brought about 6-8 months ago (cant remember exactly) and it has been a good little laptop... about 2 days ago it turned it on and on the HP boot screen i got a message in the corner of the screen saying "invalid serial number" and then it went to a black screen and would not boot, i loaded the bios and looked at the system information and in the notebook serial section was blank... I put the install disk in that came with the laptop and after several attempts managed to format the HDD and re-install windows and it worked but it still came up with the error message on the boot screen but then booted... today i turned it on and it came up with the error and then went to a black screen... the notebook serial is still blank and now it will not boot in to the install wizard on the DVD that came with the laptop (it is the only install disk i have)... How can i fix this?
All the docs are backed up so that is not important i just need to be able install windows and use the computer asap....
I have looked on the Hp tech support and it is not much help...
Please help me fix this...

Best venue is to contact HP support and request an RMA and have them re-enter the Serial Number for you.
