CPU Upgrade

Thread Starter
I would like to change my CPU from Intel Core Duo T2250 to any type of Core 2 Duo with any processor speed. But the problem is, they are too expensive. I need someone to find out first if an Intel Core 2 Duo would replace my Intel Core Duo T2250. Although I forgot my socket type (I do not have my laptop held right now as it is being used) but I need someone to find out if there is a cheap deal to upgrade my CPU from my Core Duo to Core 2 Duo. Core Duo is pretty old so I need to upgrade it to Core 2 Duo. Also, would anything change if I upgrade my CPU? Like any new effects or impacts would occur?
Please let me know

The upgrade from a Core Duo to a first-generation Core 2 Duo works in a number of models but typically requires a BIOS update to make it work. The first thing I would do is check with your manufacturer or brand to see if they have an updated BIOS available for your model that allows Core 2 processors.

I researched about if my Core Duo can be replaced by a Core 2 Duo and my results were "yes". They said that my motherboard will be able to but I don't know anything about the BIOS.
