Hi All;
I have a gateway 6705 and I want to downgrade it to XP , where do I get XP with the keys,,, I have problems with Vista and it going to 'local only' ....

eBay? You can get a used retail version and activate it.

Hi All;
I have a copy of XP , and it doesn't recognize my Sata Drive , So What are the steps in putting XP on my Gateway MT6705....

Go to Intel and download the SATA driver, slipstream it into XP installation disk and you should be set.

Browse the section, we have tips on installing XP on Vista machines.

Hi All;
I have two questions --
1. is what and how do I 'Slipstream' into a XP CD disk or is it something else.....
2. when I try to update my bios the program says I don't have administrative privileges,, I don't even have an administrator, I am the only one using this notebook ??? Help !!!!!!!!!!!!!

2) Try update the BIOS under safe mode.

Hi All;
First -- I want to THANK Everyone for their Help and Everyone's Patience with me.....
I am now using Windows XP on my Gateway Notebook 6705.... I can now get on the Internet without being dropped to 'Local Only'.... THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was the Last Post to the other notebook that Filled in the Blanks in my mind... Also It will not run the Bios changing in Safe Mode, But I found it was my Human error, I didn't know about right clicking to put me in Administrator mode..... Anothe Satisfied Customer of DownGrading from Vista to XP....
