Ok i just picked up this note book and im wondering how to tell if i have the ati card... i installed the catalyst and it installed fine but nothing has shown up under device manager..
I red on ibms site that most of these lappy shipped with the intel and ati graphics in stalled(hybrid switching) and you have to be on max performance for it to switch to the ati card..
so i need to know how to tell if i have it.. or if i can install it..

If you've got the T500 (and not the T510), then you have either ATI graphics or Intel graphics, but not both. Whatever shows up under Display Adapter in Device Manager is what you've got.

And according to Lenovo, the best CPU you can put in it is a Core 2 Duo T9600 (2.8 Ghz), although I'd guess that you could get a T9900 (3 Ghz) to work as well.

It has the same heat dissipation requirements as the other processors listed, so I would guess that it should be fine.
