Earlier this month we discovered many details on future Intel flash drives, the X25-M G3 (3rd generation) - however the release date was being missing.

The latest rumors seem to indicate a release planned in the first quarter of 2011. It is therefore with surprise that some of the Chinese colleagues have discovered a copy of these new SSDs on Taobao, the Chinese equivalent of eBay. Remember that this third generation of X25-M will be offered with capacities of 80, 160, 300 and 600 GB
In terms of performance, a sequential 250 MB/s read to 170 MB/s write are to be expected. The screenshots of the 160GB model tested under HD Tune confirm these rates.

As far as pricing concerns, it takes on 2,600 yuan for 160GB, or about 280 euros. The 300 GB version is available at 5900 元, 640 €, while the 600 GB model clocks in at 7500 元, or 810 €. It remains to be seen whether they are "simple" prototype, as the label suggests, and when the giant Santa Clara intends to offer the G3 in France.
