My TE2000 tends to slow down to a crawl and the task manager shows 100% utilization for long period of times.
Based on my previous experience with an ACER Laptop I thought this may be related to overheating, so I removed the cover located above the keyboard to inspect the fan....I noticed that the fan does not operate continuosly but stops and then starts and operates briefly...Is the fan operations suppossed to be continous or is it temperature controlled by the computer....?????
I also blowed compress air to remove any dust accumulation (that solved the problem mentioned before with the ACER), but it did not helped...(did not notice any dust blowed off as was the case with the ACER)
Initially, suspecting a software problem, I had tried increasing the swap file but did not help, either...I am planning to run a defrag, since the disc is fragmented, but I am not sure that fragmentation should bring the laptop to a crawl..
Again, this is very similar to what was my experience with the ACER Laptop and after trying several remedies, including restoring the whole operating system, in that instance the problem resulted to be the air flow restriction due to dust accumulation....
So, I am wondering that in this case with the Toshiba the fan intermitent operation may be the culprit.....
I dissambled the laptop to fix a problem wiht the power connector so this may be an opportunity to change the fan.
Any comments will be appreciatted....
