Help needed for Ferrari 200 Recovery Disk

Hi guys hoping someone can help.
I inherited my brothers Acer Ferrari 200 Netbook. Love this machine but I was thinking about installing a SSD into this however, with no DVD drive and no disk, how would I go about getting a disk to boot from?

I have an external DVDRW so no problems there, the key is on the stiker underneath but i dont have a disk to boot from. In Windows 7 there is the option under backup and restore to create a system repair disk - would this create a boot/ install disk for me? When my brither bought this he wiped a few things off that cam as standard so I dont knwo what options he was presented with when he first turned it on.

Even if I dont go the route of SSD I always prefer to know what I need to do in case I need to reinstall Windows.

Does anybody kno hoe I would create an install disk?

Thanks

Jonny

Alll you need is an OS disk and pick up the drivers from the net - search for Acer Ferrari 200 drivers and you'd get loads of hits.

Is there an option from Acer that allows you to create recovery disks? If yes, use that route also.

Wondering, if he never messed with the initial install ie wipe the HDD and did a clean OS install, then the recovery partition should still be there for an option of going back to the initial setup right out of the box.....Alt-F10
Googled and found this:Whether it any good, dont know, didnt try it. http://www.patronforum.com/forum/sho....php?tid=14098

Thanks, heard these things sometimes have hidden partitions but if I replace the hdd with a ssd, where does the os install from? I do have a win 7 disk from another machine, hone perm 64bit- will the key work with that?
