I got a hand-on experience this afternoon. Not impressed, sorry Toshiba.

- sluggish response from certain (button) apps (I am spoiled on Apple iPad response )
- not feeling quite right in my hand (personal observation only, others might feel different.
- internet connection a bit slow via wireless
- screen having issue when under a well lit environment.
- €399 is a bit much for lack of apps.

^^ What can I say

UK Stores have upped the price of the Toshiba Folio 100 Tablet or just stop selling them due to high return rate from pretty much what I mentioned above

People should slow down and read a page from Apple - design, test and test before jumping the tablet wagon

So if you first don't succeed, why not try again?

Toshiba is aiming to launch three new tablet PCs in the first quarter of 2011 and has outsourced their production to its Taiwan-based partners Quanta Computer, Compal Electronics and Pegatron Technology. The three devices are already set to show up at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2011. Toshiba Taiwan has declined to comment on the reports.

The three new tablet PCs are expected to adopt different operating systems: Microsoft's Windows 7 and Google's Android and Chrome OS. Two models are expected to adopt 10.1-inch panels with the remaining one to adopt a 11.6-inch panel. The three tablet PCs are being positioned by Toshiba as an extension of PC products.

In addition to the three tablet PCs, Toshiba also has plans for 7-inch tablet PC products, but the projects will be handled by the company's handset department, indicating that the devices will feature functions similar to smartphones.

Source.

A new firmware update is being made available to fix the issues with Touch handling and Multi-Touch in all apps. Still it is a long way to go before it can install apps without hacking as being reported by persistent believers

Needs Honeycomb at least. Nothing else will do.

OS can only do so much, bad device drivers are usually the culprit for everything that does not run correctly.

On topic, looking like they are going the Android way after all.
