I may be in the market for a good-battery-life yet still semi-powerful laptop for college in a couple months, so I started looking around. Engadget says they tested the Asus UL50Vf with good benchmarks and good battery life... but I can't find them for sale anywhere. I noticed Newegg only lists "UL50 Series" and not a full model code, and I have found some UL50Vt here and there, but I assume the good battery life is due to the Optimus auto-switching graphics system. I've been out of the laptop loop for a while, so I don't know what "Vt" means as opposed to "Vf" but I'd for sure rather find out ahead of time than order a Vt and have it drain battery like crazy...

Asus UL50Vf is an upgrade/update from UL50Vt. Apart from the Optimus and ability to push up to 1.73Ghz - and longer battery life - the rest is the same for both models.
You might want to look into the UL80Vt (11+ hrs battery performance) which is pretty much the same as the UL50Vf but with a 14" LCD instead of the 15" (UL50Vf).

Thanky sir, I'll definately look at that one. If the F is an update, which I verified in some Googling, why is the T still available and the F is nowhere to be found? Makes no sense unless Asus reverted to a previous model to save money buying Nvidia chips or something...
